For shopping head to The Palace Exchange Shopping Centre, high street chains here include well-known names such as Topshop and River Island among others. There is also an array of local independent stores in the area. The bakery here ‘Holtwhites Bakery’ was voted one of Britain’s best independent shops.
Outdoor spaces where you can relax and unwind can be found in Grovelands Park, Hillfields and Enfield Town Park. For entertainment watch a performance at the Dugdale Theatre, there is also a gallery and museum to explore here. There is clay shooting at the Rectory Farm Shooting Ground. There are a number of gyms to choose from including Southbury Leisure, Southgate Leisure Centre and Bush Hill Park Gym.
Enfield Restaurant & Bars
There is an abundance of fine food to enjoy in restaurants throughout the area, including ‘La Caverna’, which is a Spanish and Italian restaurant; ‘Enzo’s’ is a nice Italian as is ‘Persico’, which is slightly more expensive. ‘Saathi’ is perfect if you fancy a curry and ‘Arigato Sushi and Thai’ for Japanese and Thai food. For those who like Mexican food ‘La Mexicana’ is ideal, be sure to sample a mojito alongside their authentic dishes.
For good, homely pub food head to ‘The Cricketers’, ‘The Jolly Farmers’ and ‘The Robin Hood’, the latter of which has a lovely beer garden to enjoy, overlooking the countryside. For drinks there is a number of bars including ‘Bar Form’, ‘Club 108’, ‘Crown and Horseshoe’ and ‘Bush Hill Park’.
For a coffee and a spot of lunch there are a variety of cafes, including chains Costa, Starbucks and Café Nero, as well as independents ‘Buffalo’, ‘Dowart Café’, ‘Grill on the Hill’ and ‘Painters of Enfield.’
