Situated in east London, this district is smart and slick. The Isle of Dogs became a residential area in the 19th C when the docks were constructed; the properties in the area are often converted from old warehouses, which reflect the areas history. The majority of residential development occurred in the late 1980’s after the port closed. Residential buildings are found amongst the commercial architecture here. Amongst E14, in West India Quay, north of Canary Wharf, there are converted warehouses. Narrow Street is a conservation area, and here you’ll find a handful of 17th and 18th C houses. There are also riverside developments in St Andrew’s Square and Burrells Wharf. The most expensive area is South Quay, on the Pan Peninsula, it is highly coveted but this is reflected in price.
