The old town hall has been the location of Battersea Arts Centre since 1979 and provides art, music, theatre, comedy and activities for the children to partake in. The Clapham Grand is also host to live music, readings and comedy. For a comedy night with a difference there is the Battersea Barge, which is a floating venue available to hire.
On Northcote Road there is a wealth of independent shops, as there also is on Lavender Hill, a visit to Northcote Road Market is a must, where there is an array of delicacies, including fruit and veg, cheese, meat, flowers, clothes and antiques all for sale. Latchmere Leisure Centre has a gym and swimming pool for those who enjoy remaining active, as well as opportunities to play tennis, badminton and netball at Battersea Sports Centre.
Battersea Restaurant & Bars
Battersea has a myriad of pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from, for a fine selection of beers head to ‘The Draft House’; ‘The Goat’, ‘Westbridge’ and ‘The Magic Garden’. If beer isn’t your tipple, there is ‘The Lost Angel’ for fabulous gin and tonics. Gastro pub ‘Bolingbroke’ is also worthy of a visit.
For a night out many head to Northcote Road, there are two delicious Italian’s to choose from, ‘Numero Uno’ a family run restaurant with a warm atmosphere, and ‘Franco Manco Sourdough Pizza’ is very popular with the locals. For tapas there is ‘Boqueria Market’ named after the famous Barcelona food market, and ‘Lola Roja’.
‘The Four Thieves’ is a venue seeped in history and one of the oldest establishments in the area, it is home to music, quiz and comedy nights. Battersea is home to Gordon Ramsey’s venture ‘London House’ his restaurant is located in Battersea Square.
